Message from the ECF:-

"As you may or may not be aware I was recently given the job of ECF Publicity Officer. Any comments, advice, criticisms in that area of chess, feel free to contact me and let me know. Recently I sent out emails to each of the constituent units in the ECF floating the idea of a mailing list. Essentially, it would be on a voluntary basis, and would involve people giving their names, contact details (i.e. email address, postal address), where they would be prepared to travel to to play chess, and which types of tournaments they would like to play in (i.e. quickplay, slowplay etc). I would then send a list of people for whom the congress matched their chosen criteria, to the congress organisers, and the organisers could send out entry forms to these people. The feedback I received was by and large positive, so I'd like to trial this on a larger scale. If you could forward this email to every club within your county I would be most grateful. I know it sounds like a lot to ask, but if you just copy and paste the email addresses of each club's secretary or president into an email it shouldn't take more then a few minutes, and you'd be doing me a great favour. You could either ask them to reply to you, and then pass the emails on to me, or mention my email address and have people contact me directly, I don't mind which".

"As I said above, any comments, positive or negative on this idea, or any other ideas you may have, would be more then welcomed".

Thanks,
 Ben Edgell

The annual fixture meeting will took place on Monday 14th September 2009. We will run a U140 formula league.
